GOO GOO DOLLS
LIVE IN CONCERT
Theatre Tour 11 April 2010

I'm going to say it with pictures. In no uncertain terminology, the Goo Goo Dolls tore the roof off the place. The experience of seeing them in a relatively small theatre (about 1750 seats) was sublime!

Never pass up a chance to see the boys from Buffalo, and look out for Something For The Rest Of Us, their soon to be released new album. The handful of songs they played that night, fit in seamlessly with their zillion seller hits.

THE ROCKET SUMMER

The Rocket Summer opened for the Goo Goo Dolls on their theatre tour, and I have never (I mean never) see a better opening act, particularly since I did not know them/him (read the bio, it's really a solo act with support), in my concert going life (and I saw the Beatles in concert, friends!).

With the enthusiasm of a Bruce Springsteen and the multi-instrumental talent of Stephen-Captain-Manyhands-Stills, Bryce Avary and company played a dynamic and haunting 40 minute set. Bryce is a real showman too. That's him playing solo acoustic guitar and singing whilst standing on a sixth row seat in the body of the venue (check out his...um...back pockets). Oh, did I tell you he moves on stage like a young (or older) Mick Jagger?

The first thing I did when I got home was order much of The Rocket Summer body of work. I can't wait until it arrives.

Last thought on this guy/these guys... they were so good, that I would have been satisfied if the Goo Goo Dolls suddenly couldn't play. I mean that. The Goo Goo Dolls were SUPER....but enjoying a complete (to me anyhow) unknown, the Rocket Summer blew me away.

Viva Bryce Avary!

CHUCK NEGRON IN CONCERT
He's still got it, and the band was tight!!!

Don't miss a chance to see this living legend, and real Survivor on stage.

Better Late than LATER!

The Michael McDonald Christmas Show. Lots of hits and Christmas music. Lovely, mellow for most of the evening, but the Motown songs really stood out.
