*Song #10, thanks to tomjonesinternational.com for the correct title.
Until a bit later, here’s a link to the local paper review. I won’t criticize the technical error in this article about Mr. Jone’s Knighthood, but I will say I did not (nor did the three others I talked to after the show) hear “Thunderball.” He simply did not sing it!
And from the fourth row center I had a great view of the stage, and did not see any men’s undies make it to the stage.
I did see the “cookie lady.” I also saw a mega-fan-woman try repeatedly to toss T.J. a bouquet of roses, and just make it at the end of the show. T.J. picked up just one of the roses and split with it in his hands at the very end of the show.
Bottom Line: 5/5 Stars, among the best shows I have ever attended. Relatively short at 90 minutes or so, but no fluff or filler...and sublimely good. More to follow. Don’t miss this tour, check out tomjones.com and tomjonesinternational.com for more information.

WHITESNAKE LIVE IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHT DVD
Live in London at Hammersmith 2004
Here's the quick version, buy this DVD/CD set and enjoy, ok?
Longer version: I was lucky enough to see Whitesnake in the 80s in New York with Steve Vai on guitar and was blown away at what a great showman David Coverdale (lead singer of course, and formerly of Deep Purple, well one incarnation thereof) was. Well, it's a good two decades later, and the winner is Coverdale!
This slick and tight and extremely well produced DVD, with companion highlights CD for your non-video system, is just a gem. I don't care how he does it, Coverdale's voice is amazing for any age. The band has gone through too numerous to count changes, but this particular lineup is stunning. You will note some of the heavy-hitters (literally, check out the drum solo, and figuratively), of hard rock, have been put into service very very wisely. I didn't miss Mr. Vai...sorry to say.
Minor quibble, "Slide it In" (sheer poetry, not!), is missing. That was a great live tune for the crowd to chant. But the crowd has more than a few opportunities, none missed, during this 16 song romp. Don't miss the documentary, short and sweet, and not the usual drone on these things, and even the photo gallery is presented with a movie/slide-show plus soundtrack; it works better than any other such gallery on DVD I have seen.
Bottom Line: 5/5 Stars....I can't wait to play it on my machine again, and again.

"This much I know"
Mick Hucknall, singer, 45, of the great group Simply Red has a great commentary piece in the OBSERVER. He speaks of lots of bedroom action, without love; great singers and much much more. Take a minute to cut and paste this link in your browser...and thank me later!

CROSBY, GILMOUR & NASH !!!
According to the 9 Feb 20006 USA print issue of ROLLING STONE, in the column called the "Smoking Section," David Gilmour is finishing up "On an Island," his first solo album in ages. David Crosby and Graham Nash reportedly contribute backing vocals on the title track. The full article is on page 31.
An image of Kanye West with a crown of thorns (ugh...can you spell t-a-s-t-e-l-e-s-s?) is on the cover of this issue. Great issue otherwise.
