QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS
RETURN OF THE CHAMPIONS
OK, I will admit it up front...I purchased my copy of this 2 CD set of a
live (mostly) Queen (w/ a Bad Company tune or 2) at bestbuy.com. I know I
support indie record stores most of the time, but exclusive to this
site/store is a DVD of 2 songs in concert ("We Are the Champions" and "Tie
Your Mother Down"), and it was worth it.
I can only say Mr Rodgers' voice has not only aged gracefully, it is
wonderfully preserved and stretched by the material, without being at all
rough!
Like the London Show "WE WILL ROCK YOU" (which is now in Vegas too), if
you like the music of Queen, you will love this collection. In fact the
DVD of mearly 2 songs, has made me certain the full concert DVD (from a
while ago in the UK), will be similarly smashing.
Recommendation: BUY IT, in one form or another...5/5 stars.
PS: only the original lead guitar and drummer of Queen appear, plus some
solid side players...you won't notice the bass difference!
